What is TGS navigation?
Kaplan Sinus Relief is now proud to offer the use of Stryker’s Target Guided Surgery (TGS) navigation system for balloon sinuplasty. Currently, Dr. Michael Kaplan is the only doctor in the U.S. to offer patients this state-of-the-art technology in the office.
This new technology uses software to create a preoperative plan, which is then overlaid onto a real-time image of your anatomy and shown via endoscopic camera. The guided pathway is typically displayed as staggered circles through which surgical instruments should pass.
This groundbreaking process is a new layer of accuracy and safety, making each balloon sinuplasty procedure less invasive, more precise, and more selective than ever before.
A Few Benefits of Stryker’s TGS navigation system include:
Surgical foresight
The TGS planning software, called Building Blocks, leverages 3D software and enables Dr. Kaplan to analyze your anatomy well before the surgery begins.
Better planning
Now Dr. Kaplan and his team can more accurately pre-plan the creation of sinus drainage pathways and the targeting of specific parts of anatomy.
Augmented reality
The TGS software is defined by its innovative use of software displayed over real-time images of anatomy, making augmented reality an exciting part of ENT surgery’s future.
